Halo Wars is going to be set before the first game, when the aliens first come and stuff.

As for the next game in the series, well - there hasn't been an official announcement yet. Bungie Studios split from Microsoft and is now supposedly working on a Halo game with no Master Chief or Arbiter. Rather, it has a squad of troops and you have to battle through campaign levels and stuff (as opposed to just being the hero). Also, in September, there's a Halo: Blue coming out. It's probably just an expansion pack to Halo 3 with all the DLC but there has not been an official announcement.

no we have all heard of the new releasing of the Halo Wars game but its not to be confused with the new project that Halo design team has been working on, it supposedly will be a Halo 4 but nobody knows for certain
