This game is looking better and better with every video released. So far the characters revealed are:

Superman
Batman
The Flash
Captain Marvel
Catwoman
Liu Kang
Sub-Zero
Scorpion
Shang Tsung
Sonya

The rating being T and the lessened blood is a good idea and let's them focus more on the actual gameplay....plus fatalities are still in, but no limb/head dismemberments. The good DC heroes like Superman get non-lethal finishing moves, while the Mortal Kombat characters and DC villains like Catwoman do fatalities. Pretty cool

Oh yeah! I can't wait to kick Liu Kang's ass as Batman!

What do you mean its looking better and better? there is NO fatalities(spelling?) in a mortal kombat game.Mortal kombat must have blood and guts and disembowelment. therfore EPIC FAIL

Well there is blood, but it's toned down from the ridiculous "one punch spurts out gallons of blood" thing. And there are fatalities man, they just aren't as pathetically extreme as they were before. No limbs being torn off, etc. DC let Midway use their characters on that condition. Superman's not getting his head torn off, but he can still be burned alive by Scorpion. It seems fair to me. The fatalities are going to be more unique, like we could see Joker (if he's in the game) use his Joker toxin or something.

And what's EPIC FAIL is that you seem to just want blood over actual gameplay. That's why Mortal Kombat is falling behind, because the fans are content with the mediocre shit like "omg i cut off his head loooooool"

Mortal kombat was out a long time before super smash bros. but in a way yes its a fighting game

Mortal Kombat has always been extremely gorey and it hasn't affected game play one bit, and also with a higher rating there will be less idiot 12 year olds playing.

Yeah it has affected gameplay, the gameplay for the PS2 games was pathetic compared to other fighters. Why do you think they keep on changing how the game plays after every game? They haven't found their stride at all, and it's not because they want to try "different things". It started off with some potential with Deadly Alliance but dropped off after that, and Armageddon was such a rehash it wasn't even funny. The create-a-fatality sucked too. You couldn't even create any new combos besides the ones they already implemented into the games (dial-a-combos, meaning you can't chain different attacks unless they're in a certain order), and they copied and pasted a LOT of characters' moves. They spent way too much time trying to add unnecessary gimmicks rather than improving on the fighting system.

The higher rating means absolutely nothing, you'll still find older people to play against. The way I see it, the "restrictions" forces them to focus on what really counts: the gameplay. After they get a solid system then they can toss in all the gore they want. I mean I like the fatalities and it's kind of fun, but they need to be the last thing the developers need to worry about.

I wasn't referring to the gore. Like the idea of the game is too get heroes, characters, and fighters from across games and shows, in to one fighting game. Am I correct?

Yeah, that's what it basically is. Look up Marvel vs Capcom, it's the same thing basically. The games come together in the plot through some convoluted storyline
