You'll slip up, count on it

For as straight-laced as you seem to be, you still have plenty of time with the rest of your life to fuck up, it can happen to anybody. And nobody really gives a fuck about piracy, they say they want to stop everyone from doing it, but come on now. It's never going to be as important as getting drugs and gangs off of the streets, nor should it ever be a priority. You know how much fucking time they'd have to invest to get EVERY person who pirates/hacks, etc.? That's millions of people, and a complete and total waste of time.

It's not that big of a deal, get over it.

So, you think a 250,000 dollar fine isn't serious? I highly suggest you read the United States Code. You can spead up to 5 years in prison and you don't think that's serious? I think any crime should be taken seriously, whether it is a misdemeanor or a felony.

I am sort of with both actually..

Yay because: I used them once in a game on steam called Counter-Strike 1.6 and all people did was whine and complain and say how much of a "n00b" i was but there was a admin in the server and he wouldn't kick me or ban me because my screen wasn't "shaking" so he had no good reason.

Nay because:
I only like when i am using them, not going against them lol.

You didn't really get it, maybe due to your blind fear of the law. Until they actually start cracking down on this, it's not important to them at all. They have bigger things to worry about, like violence, drugs, street crimes, robberies, etc. Wasting all their time to focus on some stupid shit like a simple guy downloading a song or a game? That's pathetic. In like the past 10 years, I've only seen one person on the news actually prosecuted for downloading/piracy, and that's because she was a stupid bitch who publicly bragged about it

But like I said, continue to live in your paranoia and abide by every aspect of the law. Walking down the street afraid that you might get penalized and fined for any action you might do. People who download music/games aren't evil/wrong at all, and they really shouldn't be compared to a murderer or rapist in your eyes.

You are wrong, entirely wrong. There are private investigators, FBI agents who deal with these things day to day. Even I bet in your eyes, you wouldn't see a child porn case serious. Rape and murder are the most heinous crimes in America and yet there is different types of crime police, FBI, and other law enforcement officials deal with day to day, week to week, month by month. If you known several people in your family who was in law enforcement...then you'd know. My grandmother was a sheriff's deputy...My mother was a local cop for about 6 months. My grandfather...several of my uncles. These were all on my mother's side of the family. They've taught me better about the law than anything I could trust. A 21 year old woman on another website told me a bunch of junk with watching internet websites, forums, message boards, chatrooms, and there are probably several law enforcement officials, probably hundreds, including the FBI investigating every single website there is. And if you want to know why...PM me. I can name several reason why. Yes, there has probably been more of a million piracy cases since the day I was born. You never know what kind of world we live in, what crime is committed by the minute or hour. Yes, I do believe in misdemeanors and felonies and I can tell which is which. I can tell you piracy can get you serving prison time, depending on the US Penal Code.

Of course I think child porn is serious. Don't assume that I support that shit. We're talking about downloading games/music, not that. I'm pretty fucking sure the FBI hasn't been investigating me, otherwise wouldn't I have been caught when I downloaded something? They don't investigate unless they have actual legitimate proof of such an act going on. Even then they don't seem to care, and only go after the creators of the programs giving users the ability to do so (like Napster, Kazaa, etc.)

You're obviously a joke account, you've also proved my point that you're a paranoid little kid

I can only honestly say i've pirated something but only when it wasn't available here. It was a japanese ps2 game. I wanted it, but I couldn't get it here and ebay sellers would not ship it to USA (or atleast the few i contacted would not) so I just downloaded it.
The lack of availability and the overpricing of most games causes pirating. For example, Halo 3 cost $59.99 for a disc with some shit on it and a case. There are other games released for $19.99 and companies still make money. Why did halo have to be so overpriced? Also, to get 'All' the features out of halo, I have to pay $6 bucks a month for xbox live and $10 dollars every time bungie wants to make a map pack. If we are still paying for a game that we overpayed for in the first place, doesn't that seem a little fucked up? Considering the fact that PS3 has a free alternative to xbox live and it WORKS BETTER than xboxlive?

Sorry I went off on a tangent there... lol

evilwhiteteen has lost any respect i may have had for him in this thread. If pirating were investigated nearly as much as you say I would know at least one person that has been caught considering half my friends do it and have been for years, most of my uncles do it. And my one uncle even has over 300 movies and 5k+ songs that he downloaded for free and has never been caught. Hell just on this comp I have over 300 songs and 20+ movies.

Do you know how much musicians and actors get paid for skills or looks they were born with? Who the fuck cares if they lose some money.

With how SEGA screwed up after the 32x, they don't deserve to profit from me. I play old Sega Genesis ROMs now, the fact that SEGA doesn't manufacture the Genesis anymore means they can't make profit off of, say, Sega Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog cartidges, all profits are accumulated, now, by owners of the cartidges, and Sega gets zero. Besides, the GBA version of Sonic the Hedgehog sucks balls.

So, lets get straight to the point here: I don't waste my time with a lot of this generation games because they ALL SUCK. I stick to a generation I grew up in where profits are no longer relevent to the company. Besides, Sonic the Hedgehog Megamix BLOWS Sonic and the Black Knight away.
