The series is complete trash now, it used to be my favorite set of games. I still remember playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as my first game, and it was fun. Now there's too many characters and not enough old school Sonic gameplay. I remember when it was just Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, and everything was good. No plot, just running to the goal and jumping on Robotnik's head 8 times and saving the animals in the cage.

I even heard something about the next Sonic game making him turn into a werewolf or some shit like that. It's pathetic.

I agree, this nintendo generation is bullshit.

Sega actually made a good game of Sonic.

Mine broke a loooong time ago.
I've had every system, untill these new generations, gamecube, wii, xbox and it's branches.
Swear they make too many now. I wish they would make the old sega games on ps3, which will never happen because Sony has yet to buy Sega.

Makes me think of what Nintendo did with Pac Man. They have Pac Man games in 3D, with a plot, characters.. bunch of bullshit.. How do they get that from a circle with a mouth running around eating dots, while being chased by 4 ghosts? =P

Which obviously that's what Nintendo has turned into.
They ruin most of their games, and continue to make a few hundred different versions.
You don't see Microsoft, or Sony with games like that, other than Final Fantasy, but all the games for that are pretty much the same. Not like nintendo games.

Racing versions
Fishing versions
Campaigns on sub-characters

Sega also almost killed Sonic with lame games like Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog for 360.

The only 3D Sonic game I liked was Sonic Adventure 2, mainly for the Sonic/Shadow levels. I liked the Sonic Advance series on GBA and Sonic Rush on DS because they tried to take it old school and focused only on a small amount of characters while keeping the core Sonic gameplay. Sonic Unleashed looks like Sonic Rush, and I think I'll definitely enjoy that game now that I've seen some videos of it.
