I cannot believe there wasn't already a topic for this! Either that or I missed it... O.o
So anyway, what's you favourite FF, fav characters, etc, and why? What did you like/dislike about it?
My favourite would be either 7 or 12. I don't like the amount of spin-offs there are of 7 though, the only good ones are Advent Children and Crisis Core. I loved the gameplay in 12, especially the battle system. Gambits rock ^_^
I HATED 9!!! That was SOOOO bad I didn't even bother buying it, I just borrowed it for the 2 days it took the complete... it was too easy, to childish, the characters had tails for god's sake...
Oh yeah and Fav characters would be Fran, Auron and Reno.

I think I'd have to go with FFX. That was a lot of fun to play; great story.

And I had a lot of fun playing FFX-2, but that's because I did my best to completely disregard the story (or lack thereof, as it were). The job class system was alot of fun to play aound with, and the gunner class (read: trigger happy) was soo great! This game def. should've been an entirely new story instead of a poor continuation of a completed one.

As for fave chars, I'd go with Sephiroth (you just can't deny how goddamn evil he is), Rikku, and Balthier.

Balthier's cool too, he's funny with words. X did have an undeniably good story, but I'd still say 7 had a better one. The crappy graphics in the orginal game was all that let it down, but they were awesome for it's time.

Oh yea, the gameplay, I'm stuck currently lmao.

FFXII looks nice, but engine has too many bugs. Hence the reason they droped the engine and are going with the new Crystal System for FFXIII and FF vs XIII.

FFXI was horribly expensive, buggy gameplay, just wasn't fun to play.

FFX-2 was so stupid, only reason anyone liked that is because of their desperate lives needing to look at half naked animated chicks. They turned Yuna into a slut, bringing tidus back was b/s, getting rid of summons was fucking stupid, and the whole clothes system was boring as hell.

FFX Great game, great story, notice how it was the last actual good Final Fantasy. Also it was last Square soft game. Square Enix took over after that. It's really touching, in a way I liked it's graphics more than FFXII, had it's own special feel to it.

FFIX was totally horrible. Story sucked, characters sucked, tried recreating the FFXII engine but did it in a horrible way. Also too much emphasis in the card game.

FFVIII was my favorite. The gf system really grabbed me, characters were really great. Especially the Ragnarok was so amazing on cinematics. Space travel which was really unique.

FFVII was good, but not as great as everyone makes it out. Main reason it was so popular is because it was first one to hit an actual good system. Characters were great, materia system was fun at first but kinda got a bit dreary and boring. Love the amount of secrets in the game. They need to keep adding secret characters and other little stuff beyond summons on final fantasies.
