Thomas Brent Weekely Takes Ryder Cup by Storm
American golfer, Boo, made a great start at the Ryder Cup on Friday evening, with a fantastic lead over the Europeans. Thomas Brent Weekely, known to many as ‘Boo’, came to Valhalla Golf Course as a hardly-known golfer and who has admitted many times that golf isn’t his life, but he sure is good at it.
The first roar came from the crowd as he birdied at the 10th to draw with Westwood and Soren Hanson. Shouts of “Boooooooo”, later became “Boo.S.A” as he got better and better, to become one of USA’s greatest golfers and the one man destined to liven up the Ryder Cup.
He went on to achieve a wonderful putt and take the lead at 12th. Americans believe he is the one the Europeans should look out for, however it is Mickelson who has grown into the role of team leader.
One man wearing a ‘Red White and Boo’ t-shirt said:
“He’s a normal guy. I’m a normal guy so that works.” Which is Boo in a nutshell. He enjoys hunting, and just chilling out. On the golf course he is calm and collected, which i suppose helps his concentration a lot.
As a European myself, I was shocked to see Weekley able to pinch the lead from us, but I do believe he will bring us all an incredibly entertaining Ryder Cup, this weekend.
