?Nightwish kicks ass anyone know any bands with a similar type sound?

Within Temptation, well not really Symphonic Metal, or Metal. But they have a female singer and they use organs and choirs like Nightwish.

Yeah, Nightwish is pretty much Symphonic Power Metal. I love this genre.

Though I'm unaware of any bands that sound like Nightwish, here's a few that I suggest: Stratovarius, Nostradameus, Kamelot, Epica, Northern Kings (really good!), Angra, Luca Turilli, Shining Star, and Divinefire. These bands aren't as well known as Nightwish, but the music is fantastic.

And if you prefer a female vocalist, look up Dawn of Destiny.

I checked some of those bands out. Within Temptation is more like Evanescence than Nightwish. Dawn of Destiny wasn't bad. Nostradameus got the closest in my opinion and Northern Kings slaughtered to many of my fav classic rock songs to rank high for me...to many covers not enough originals.

if you check those out you might find what your looking for

Within Temptation is nothing like Evanescence. Evanescence is all poppy and they aren't symphonic at all.

Within Temptation. After Forever. Tristania. I Am Ghost. Leaves Eyes. Syrenia.

That's all I'm getting at the moment. I'll have to check in a bit.

They're all female vocalists too, I can name more with male vocalists though.
