| A Field of Honor contest has not been issued in some time, but Baldr would like to introduce the rules used in Breidablik to the populace of ARG for they differ from the Valhallan method of battle. Should anyone face Baldr on the Field of Honor, these are the rules and methods that will be adhered to. Quite obviously, a topic will be made after the challenge is accepted by all parties. It doesn't matter who makes the topic. There can be as many or as few of people involved as necessary, but honor will only be granted to the victorious party if they are under equal odds. For example, if two members are paired against one and are victorious, there is no honor gained. If, however, two members defeat two members, then honor is granted. Typically, the Field of Honor is a one on one contest, but these amenities can be made if necessary. The thread name will contain the names of the parties involved. Now, this is where the Field of Honor contest differs. There is no time limit to the Field of Honor in Breidablik. Instead, a panel of judges are assigned through proper channels; each party will choose six names. Out of those six names, the opposing party picks three people and they cannot be the same person. There must be six members on the panel by the end (these numbers are mere figures and can be modified, but this is standard procedure.) No one may post in the topic besides the judges and those who are on stand off. Judges are expected to behave as impartially as possible. Should a judge behave poorly, honor will be lost for them and the person they are shown to be biased for. As aforementioned, there is no time limit. A Field of Honor contest under Breidablik rules can rage on for generations. A victor is decided when a unanimous decision is made among the panel that one of the disputants has achieved clear victory. Judges may give no input; they may only say who they feel is winning and why. Disputants go tit for tat (that is, they take turns posting) until a victor is decided. Should a disputant bow out gracefully, the other is expected to allow them to savor their dignity. In this case, both disputants are granted honor. However, if the above condition is met and the winning competitor continues to berate his/her disputant, their honor is diminished. Though, not completely stripped bare. If a competitor refuses to acknowledge their loss, they lose all dignity and honor and are considered "Blacklisted". A blacklisted disputant may never compete in the Field of Honor contest again unless granted approval by Baldr, Nanna or Forseti. Likewise, someone who accepts their loss gains a scintilla of honor, themself. A topic will be decided by the parties themselves. Whether by multiple choice or a collective decision. The opposing parties do not have to stay on this topic, but if they convert to a new topic tastelessly (stone walling, for instance), judges may take notice to that. All forms of attack on the Field of Honor is deemed acceptable, but goes under the strict eye of the panel. Should you use an straw man fallacy in your argument, expect it to take a toll on your debate. Should any issue arise that is not covered by the above declaration, it will be analyzed by Baldr before being implemented into this post. And to answer your question, no. We, the Norse Gods, do not plan our responses and threads with one another. Quote:
