A notion that they're paying off their nation better by taking shittier jobs that use honor and tradition as recruiting tools.

Because they want to do something challenging that gives them physical and mental training that you can't get anywhere else? And because they want to serve their country, get the benefits of military service, and because they're not pansies.

While you sit there in your safe little room calling them names, they are in combat taking bullets and shrapnel and enduring terrible conditions. It's pretty pathetic to dis them like that.

And what's wrong with using honor and tradition as recruiting tools? The Marines have a long history that dates back all the way to Nov. 10, 1774, and in many cases are the first to fight. They have done a lot of great work in all of this nation's wars. And the Navy SEALS also have an interesting history that dates back to WW2, and are probably the best trained combat troops in the country.

There's nothing wrong with recruiting young men and women to be a part of that. And the military offers hundreds of great jobs and careers.

but as for the seals. i thought about being one until i met one. he was the biggest dick i ever met. i mean seriously, he had 3 failed marriages and all he could do was teach 17 year old kids to become seals.


and as for marines. they were around for a while, but until the korean war they were only part of the NAVY, they would carry their bags to port and on ship, they were made to clear the ground for invasion. they recieve the least amount of funding, and in korea, the first war they were actually part of they retreated! yes, fucking reatreated. becuase guess what, they are still people. do you even know what marines stands for?

i'm going to be a submarine aet missle technician. right now i'm in dep. and that is actually going to get me somewhere in life
but if i could chose i wouldn't go in, i'm doing this for a decent life, that's it. if i could afford college right out of high school i would jump on that.


you need to grow up dude, it's not all victories and pussy. if you had any relitives in war you would know. my dad went to vietnam, his in ww2. my mom's dad ww2.
