| Israel is one of the original terrorists states of the 20th century. I don't give a fuck if we're allied with them or not. Hell, their last PM or whatever they call it was a terrorist for a good part of his life. |

| Israel has one of the powerful Air Forces in the world, and is one of the only countries to be friendly towards the United States that are in the Middle East. I could also throw the whole "God's chosen people!" bit in there but really, Jerusalem is a central city for three main, monotheistic religions. Israel is in the front line in the international struggle against terrorist violence and we should show solidarity with all involved in that fight. We should also recognize Israel’s unique position as a lone democracy in a region that currently boasts no others. I am a strong admirer of what Israelis have achieved in the fields of science, the arts, business and philanthropy, and of the immeasurable contribution of Jewish culture to our own society.

They are the front line in the US's struggles with its own problems, not the international problem that has been occurring for decades now but ignored until it directly affected the US in the form of Islamic extremists. Quote:

Guess who kept Europe in the dark ages? Jews and Christians. Guess who started an intellectual revolution in Spain that quickly brought reason over faith, or at least reintroduced reason TO faith in Christianity and Judaism? Two Muslim scholars. Those two men are to whom we owe the fact that Europe and all of America aren't today one huge socialistic Holy Roman Empire. Granted, they were executed when they returned to the middle east for being deemed infidels to the Islam faith, but point made. Oh what have I done to this topic. Anyway, I'll just leave my argument that Israel was an experiment in influencing other developing nations' politics in order to both ward off communism in the Middle East and for Christian congressmen (which at the time is all of them I guess) to fulfill the sacred duty of helping the Hebrew people, and now, we both suffer the moral burden and reap the economical benefits of being allied with such a conflicted country.
