Probably learning to read. It's so obvious I overlooked it at first. But just think... would we even be able to get along as a civilization without some writing system? Humf. Thank God I was taught how to read!

I value the ability to take in my surroundings. Its something my father taught me before he went "crazy". This quality has opened the doors in my mind to so many things. Art, sciences, beauty, so many things. But basically I treasure the ability to appreciate the beauty in all things.
