| I feel honored to have the same exact scores as Thor. |

| Perhaps on top of displaying one's math and verbal abilities, the tests also display one's ability to take tests. For example, if two people possess the same the same knowledge of math (this is a hypothetical, so we'll say exactly the same), yet one is better at test taking, it is likely that that person will score better, even with the same math knowledge.

| True, and I don't think that's fair. Should I think that's fair? They say they use that to see how you will do on the college level. To me that doesn't show how you are gonna do on a research paper or essay or in the lab or anything, or does it somehow? |

| No, I don't think it does. Which, I suppose, may be why they added the writing part. But you're right in that there are many ways to express one's knowledge, and that the SAT and ACT don't cover them all. Just the quickest, easiest way to do so.

| It would be the quickest way...and I think the essay is just plain ridiculous, the world's greatest papers took longer than 25 minutes to write I'm sure, so 25 min to write a paper is ridiculous and unfair in my opinion, most people take long than 25 minutes to think about what they want to say and how to lay it out, and I never understood how the SAT would prove how well you'd do in a class. What about the people who want to major in a science field? The SAT doesn't point to any of that. and they say that math or reading points to how well you do in science, but that won't always be the case, I just find it unfair because I don't think it shows one's true knowledge. |
