Am i being greedy or brash or not?!?!?

Okay so i hoping i dont sound like a little spoilt brat in this post, cos thats exactly what im not.

Basically, i finished college ages ago and am looking for a job in the Graphic Design Industry. Anyone who knows about it will know, that to survive, you more or less HAVE to have a Macintosh notebook or tower.

Okay so, since i cant afford one paid off fully, i figured i could buy one on credit and pay £20 a month (which i can afford) alongside my phone contract which is another £20. Now then, with me being unemployed this looks like a bit of a problem. However, i do have like £250 sitting around which im more than happy to put aside for 6 months phone and Mac payoff...

...my Dad seems to think its okay, hes a little hesitant incase i dont have a job by the time i run out of money, but hes okay. However, my mum is goin mad about it, saying because i dont have a steady income, i cant afford it ra ra ra. What she dosent understand is, to make a really professional looking portfolio, i NEED the Mac for its power and capability which will give me that edge in an already tough competition in this line of work.

Anyone got any advice on how i might be able to persuade her? Im going to talk to her about it tomorrow, and i have been looking and applying for more and more jobs lately ....

Persuade her by getting a job. Most 16 year olds have steady jobs. Why don't you?

ive gone through loads of jobs, ive been unemployed a little while since my last employer didnt need us anymore so they fired like 50 peeple, i was one of erm.

Im 17 by the way lol
