| German is a cool language and all but learning it doesn't have too much value. Most young Germans are fluent in English.

| It has killer amounts of value, mostly because a lot of the most influential people for this and last century were german. Examples: Albert Einstein Hitler White Jesus (praaaissee white Jesus!)

| I want to get Rosetta Stone as well. It looks really helpful. I am learning Japanese at japanese.about.com. Progressing at a pretty good pace.
