At the last dance I wound up playing volleyball , that was fun though... I just hate a lot of social events... Never liked them. Well, Thor can you enlighten me on a better version of an apology?

The point of an apology is not to make up for what you did. It's not writing an epic poem about what you did, or how you feel. The point of an apology is to admit you made a mistake, and inform another person that you have gained that knowledge. Do not ask for forgiveness, do not try to justify your error. Just admit you made an error, and move on. The other person then decides what happens next.
