Look, the other thread was done by a dumbass, who shouldnt be allowed to advocate for something as awesome as weed =D
Anyone who says it has no adverse health effects is wrong. It does definitely do some bad shit to your body, setting anything on fire and inhaling the smoke will not be healthy. BUT! The average marijuana smoker vs the average cigarette smoker the weed smoker is going to smoke MUCH less bud than the cigarette smoker will smoke tobacco. The difference is so great that in the long term, smoking cigarette's present a higher risk than smoking weed (on average)
The whole marijuana is the #2 leading cause of accidents is a very flawed argument. The test they use is one that checks if you have smoked within the last 9-30(!) days. If any of you know smokers, you know the effects that could possibly be detrimental to driving only last a few hours. Im not saying you should drive stoned, but its not that big of a problem, not to mention it is safer to drive high than to drive drunk.
IT IS NOT PHYSICALLY ADDICTING! Many studies have found that weed is about as physically addicting as chocolate, and its less addicting than coffee. This is NOT talking about mental addiction, which varies from person to person and weed cannot be blamed for this because the people could just as likely get addicted to sex, video games, alcohol, or way worse drugs.
Now for the good stuff =DD weed has helped people cope with depression, post traumatic stress disorder, and just plain ol stress. Some people have used it effectively to cope with addictions to hard drugs such as cocaine and heroin. It can help introverted people to become more social, and is a great relaxant. If it was legalized and was taxed in a way similar to alcohol, the US could make millions of dollars a year, and even save the millions, if not billions, spent on marijuana related arrests and prosecutions. They would take power away from the rising drug cartels whos main business has to do with weed.
Now, if you want to reply, PLEASE dont be like "omg u r wrong weed is bad cuz its illegal!!!" if you do some research you will find that the person who started the illegalization process did so because he owned a large amount of lumber land and wanted to use a new wood-pulp method to make paper, but hemp (oh yeah forgot about that, it would introduce a new cash crop witch is easy to grow, can provide paper, rope, and even is a source for bio-fuel(interesting fact:the constitution is written on hemp paper

)) was the current plant used for paper. Please, intelligent responses only, no flaming, have a good day
