by living in the home that I am living in, with my boyfriend.



The end of last summer, my boyfriend and I were searching for an apartment, when his best friend said that there was a room for us at his and his mom's house. His mom is disabled so she doesn't bring in much money, so my boyfriend, being his best friend, decided for us to take the room so we could help her out and live together at the same time.


His best friend's mom's family ended up being a group of failures and started freeloading on the couches downstairs, not paying any bills, having their friends over at all times, being loud, obnoxious, and eating the groceries that my boyfriend and I buy.


Him and I are practically forced to stay in our room the whole time because of the freeloading family members downstairs and have had enough and told our friends mom that we are planning on moving out and she broke down and told her family that they had to leave because if we leave, she is fucked.

So, this is why I say we are playing the role of God, in a sense.


We hate it here, and want to move elsewhere to be happy. The only reasons we ever really fight is because of stress built up from our hectic living arrangement. The mom couldn't have expected us to live here forever and stay trapped in our room, could she?


Now, her family probably hates my boyfriend and I because they are being forced to get kicked to the curb so we can stay here, helping the mom to keep her home, but my boyfriend and I want our own life together; Not supporting people who can't support themselves.


I feel bad, almost, well... Not really. We've dealt with 9 months of bullshit, and got nothing out of it but hostility towards a family other than our own.


When we leave, the family here is so screwed, but it is there fault. They all work, they could all pay rent, but they choose to support their equally worthless significant others, keep getting pregnant/getting people pregnant, buying cigarettes/weed/alcohol instead of paying rent, so really...


Should I even feel bad?

I think not.

I know you are in a very hard situation so why dont you sit them all down like adults at a table and tell them everything you just told us. How you feel burdened and how they need to stop freeloading. Then set a time frame of say two weeks to a month for them to clean up their act and if by that time they havent just then your leaving. And make the your leaving part very clear.

However if you really do not under any circumstances want to stay. Then just tell them that they have all pushed you away and its their own fault that you are leaving.

Sad. Just tell them to deal with their own shit and gtfo.

Your first mistake was moving in to that nuthouse in the first place.

You can rectify it by leaving.

Oh, it has all been said 3453463476 times before, but we never, until today, said that we know of a place we want to move to. They are scared, shitless, out of their little, freeloading pants, I'm sure.

It wasnt like this the first month. It was perfect at first, till the 2nd month when Hell broke loose.

Well if you know where you want to move to and they have been arrogant enough not to fix their game for 9 months, Its time to move out and move on. They cant rely on you forever!

Fuck em. If he was really ur BF's best friend he would have never put u into the situation. Leave, and leave now. They are fuck ups and you are not responsible for them. You are a good person, but you need to think about yourself and your relationship, which seems to be very good. IDK where you live, but if ur in a city with a bigish college, go near campus and u'll find cheap rent. Also make ur BF's friend come with and pay rent for 9 months. He fucking owes you.
