Did I mention he's about 6'2" 180 lbs and I'm 5' 9" 135? And I already said fighting wasn't the option because it would cause our sports teams to break apart. He's okay when we're playing a sport but he likes to put people down when we're not.

It's like they said, you've got to take a stronger stand then you've been taking at the moment. It's gone on far longer than it should have, and while it is mainly his fault, some of the blame goes to you for not straight up forcing him to shut up some how. Either by talking to him or fighting him.

Just call him out on his bullshit and bring up how fucking lame, overused, and disrespectful his jokes are. Or just bang his mom instead and use THAT to your advantage lolz

If his height is what restricts you, then that is cowardice. Every fight I've ever been in, I've been the shorter person. I don't advocate for using violence to solve your problems. So the solution is simple: learn to make people like that look stupid. Take, for example, my dissection of MostAwesome on the forums. His stupid, elementary jokes were his demise.

You also have to learn to laugh and retort with something better. Honestly, I hate ribbing someone and they take it seriously. There is no greater kill joy than someone who can't take a joke. Mom jokes are stale and weak, so use something better. And don't get super serious about it. Learn to relax the defense. Or hell, the best way to make him stop is to agree with him:

"Your mom was sucking my dick dry last night, man."

"Is that what that sound was?"

Or, if you'd like to reverse it back at him.

"I was drilling your mom last night."

i have a similar problem in fact my bully today just got a completely bad hair cut (though mine are to but nobody cares because it gay when its short) well anyways i tried making a retort like his head had swelled up but an 8th grader said to stop. so i am pretty much hopeless. (this fuckin ass hole from hell keeps on picking on me why doesn't he try picking on someone that is an actual chalenge.) its so dumb that he picks on me and some fat it at our school.
