by christianity the chicken came first, God created the animals, so it would have been chicken, then egg.

by evolution, TECHNICALLY the egg, as evolution took place, the creature before the chicken would lay an egg of some sort, and the chicken (or as close as the earliest chicken would be to the current one, would hatch forthm thus the egg would come first.

it is entirly based on your belief system.
