I enlisted in the Air Force when I was 17 (and my family is Marines/Army), been in for 2 years now, so if you want to know something about the US military, ask away. Whether you want to know about joining (so you don't go into the recruiter's office and get gipped) or just what life is like, feel free.
Thanks for the service.

I've actually been relatively interested in learning more about the military. I'd rather not join, but if I was needed, I'd serve. But I have been researching some things about the military. If you'd like to share anything, I'd be willing to read it.

Also, if you were that intelligent you would understand that I ASKED you, I did not call you arrogent.
You implied it with your phrasing of your question. And for fuck's sake learn to spell it correctly.

well to be honest, all the branches have their ups and downs, and many of the stereotypes fall flat on the face.

most air force people work out more than your average army person
most marines are actually pretty intelligent, its part of the whole 'being a sharp warrior' thing
most (army) soldiers do more work and see more **** than any of the other branches
most navy people have the hardest time of all: months on end on a ship in the middle of nowhere.

its really all good, i dont believe in talking **** because each branch does something important

thor: lol, i hope you were being sarcastic. what does an officer have over an enlisted man? 4 years of college? i dont mean to downplay the important role of an officer but, period, i would trust a senior enlisted person over an officer any day of the week. funny you mention it anyway, because im going for Marine warrant officer next year once i get my 2 years of college done. attack helicopter pilot, hopefully.

of course you can take thors word over mine and assume im a human piece of **** with absolutely nothing to offer to the world

bandman: youre gonna need to be more specific, but you need to have graduated high school or have a GED. you can get in at 17 with parents permission. i graduated high school a year early, so...

Last edited by Callmaury; 03-31-2008 at 11:35 PM. Reason: glaring grammatical error... among several minor ones i dont care to fix

I give Natilly a kudos for the way she handled that situation. You know I'm cool with you, Thor, but I like her responses to you. XD

That's what I was wondering. He didn't answer me. =/

Out of curiousity, what do you -- you, in particular -- do in the Air Force?

im a german/korean linguist. dont want to sound like the cliche intelligence guy but i cant really tell you exactly what i do on a day to day basis. but basically i translate stuff all day and am a face-to-face interpreter if the need arises. remember the pussy from Saving Private Ryan, the German linguist in their platoon? yeah thats me XD.

but its really a great job, love it. get to use foreign languages in real world applications, and interact with different governments and their militaries on a close level.

Oh, that's actually pretty awesome. I've been trying to learn Italian on my own, but I don't get motivated enough to do it regularly. :P That sounds exhilerating though.
