Personally, I go about playing 'dumbass' at times, I keep making the girl laugh, making sure she has a good time. I show interest in their personal life and usually meet them once or twice later on. Most of the time it helps to pretend like I care when something bad happens to them, using the "aww, i'm sorry" act as well as I can at the moment.

I always make goodbyes quick, I say what needs to be said and go. It actually works quite well, as long as you gauge her behavior beforehand.
