| Gentlemen, the worst thing you could do when faced with a manipulative bitch is give in to them, at any point. I was talking with this one girl on AIM that I've never met. She's a friend of my chick friend that I've known for a while. So the chick I've never met, let's call her "Ally", is on "Jennifer's" screen name. Jennifer told me it was her friend so I'm down for whatever. Me and my buddy are looking for shenanigans, and they're two girls. So I'm talking to her and she is telling me her and Jennifer will hang out with us if we take them to see Sex and the City and pay for everything. I tell her to go fuck herself and suggest "The Happening" instead, since I'd rather slam my dick in a swinging door than see Sex and the City. So me and Ally are arguing back and forth and my buddy calls me. So I pick it up and tell him the situation. He's rich and I'm old friends with Jennifer, so I don't mind paying for her. So I hang up, he starts driving to my house and I tell her that even though I don't like it, she has a deal. I think she's a friend of a friend, whatever, it's cool. Then she does something you never do to Odin. She says "Wait, you guys are going to do it?" So I say "Yeah sure, fuck it, why not?" She immediately says "We changed our mind." Knowing what she means, I don't play along and say "So you've decided to pay for your share?" Her retort: "No. It means we're not going." She then adds "Sorry." So, Odin just got played. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it happens. However, Odin doesn't lie down and take it, Odin is a man's man. So I ask her what she's sorry for and she replies "sorry that we're not coming." I respond "Oh, I just thought you were going to apologize for playing games." She says "Oh yeah, that too." Now, here's the current situation, folks, I'll break it down. She has me beat, so far. She's agreed to a date, got the worst possible terms out of me and then ultimately slammed me down within a period of 10 minutes. My only recourse now is to turn the momentum of the situation on it's ass and take charge. Gladly do I heed that call. My friend Jennifer has shown her pictures of me on Facebook. She asks me why I shaved my head (Yes, Odin shaved his head, that's one thing you now know about me). I tell her it's because I felt like it, it's summer, I work out a lot and because ...fuck it, I can do whatever I want. So before she can reply to this, I seize the momentum. I tell her "I bet you're fat and ugly." Odin win. At this point she goes into a discussion of how hot she is, which celebrities she looks like, and what her measurements are. I tell her she's full of shit and she's a fat ugly troll who my friend only keeps around because she's hot and she needs an ugly friend. At this point, she's not the manipulative bitch she was 10 minutes ago. At this point she's not taking shots at me or trying to play me anymore. Now she's trying to convince me via AIM that she's hot and all that good stuff. I tell her to prove it and she tells me to check my friend's Facebook and search through her friends. I tell her her I'm not going to waste my time searching for an ugly bitch. I ask for her name so I can add her. She tells me she won't give it to me. Again, I say it's because she's ugly and not who she says she is. Finally she says "Just gimme your last name and I'll add you." So she does, and she, admittedly, is pretty cute. She looks like the celebrity she said she did. So she tries to regain momentum now and says to me "God, you're a whiney little bitch." And the capper ended the conversation with her: "Yeah, but you still did exactly what I wanted, now, didn't you?"

| God Odin, you failed that one hard. Haha, happens to the best of us man. I'll explain the nuances guys. Girls, especially attractive ones, follow a sort of routine for each guy they meet. After years of being hit on by damn near every human being with balls, they unconsciously record certain attributes losers have (or guys they don't want), and screen for them. This girl simply wanted to be led, probably because she's intimidating to most guys. Her coming off bitchy is just her screen to eliminate the guys she doesn't want. Most likely, she's extremely self-conscious, as Odin pointed out above when he called her a troll. Odin almost had the game played, and it is a complicated one with her type indeed, because as soon as you think you've won, you find out she's still playing. Basically, Odin should've stayed with the decision to go see "The Happening", maybe even telling Ally that he would buy her a ticket if she bought him popcorn and a drink. Also, Odin, they set you up from the beginning man. They made themselves the prizes to be sought after when they said they would "hang out with you" if you took them to the movies. It was a lost cause from there. Should've suggested some shit like going to Wal-Mart and then maybe the movies if they're nice. Always make it seem like you have much better things to do than hanging out with them, and if they want to come, that's fine. If not, you'll just have fun without them. it gets their panties in a bunch.

| Indeed. What he should have done from the beginning was challenge the proposal that he pays for it all. And as you said, he shouldn't have conceded to "Sex and the City". An important lesson to men. Women want what they think they can't have. Conceding to their demands and chasing after them tends to make them want you less.

| I agree. The way I framed it I made it look like it was all my friend's idea, though. Weak, but all I had at the moment. However, like I said, I'm now on her mind at least and she added me, so we'll see if I declare it a lost cause or I get somewhere.

| Eh, don't let it bear on you. It happens. It doesn't mean that you can't turn the loss into a victory. Unless you admitted to her attractiveness, you can continue the charade that she's "not all that appealing." Especially being that you said it was your friend's idea, you can up the ante. For future reference, to any concerned. If you are presented with this situation where a girl makes a proposal that you go do something (especially if it's something you don't like) and that you should pay for it, this would be my response: "I suppose you think very highly of yourself. You must if you think I'd spend my money to go do something as lame as go watch 'Sex in the City' just to hang out with you. You're not so important that I'd inconvenience myself just to be around you." Yes, it's slightly rude, but that's what you want. It asserts your dominance in the conversation, elucidates their manipulative tendencies and saves you some money. And it will likely bag you the chick if you progress through the conversation correctly thereafter.

| Lose a battle to win the war, of course. Its a decent plan, still a bad idea though. I don't know if Sun Tzu would be impressed or insulted at the fact that his 'great strategies of war' are being used for manipulating women for your own amusement.
