I'd really like to get a girlfriend but I have trouble getting one. They all just think I'm just the cute best guy friend. And most don't want to date me since I'm diabetic. Why? I have no idea. So I need a bit of help to figure out how to get a girl without having to be stuck in the weird prediciments when say something like.

"Will you go out with me?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Your too good of a friend."
"Couldn't we be better friends then?"
"No, it wouldn't seem right, your like a brother to me."

Pretty much what I always get.

And I also occasionally have a problem with depression, so I can't always be happy. But everyone says I'm the happiest guy around, so whenever I'm upset everyone else becomes that way...

So can I get some help/advice. And please don't berate me and tell me just ask/tell them to be your girlfriend, or that I'm being a pansy or something. I just want a bit of help/advice.

Any help given is much appreciated.

Well I couldn't find Njord's thread. But I read through your attachment on your signature and there's a slight problem with it.

I'm happy with my physical appearance
I believe I'm pretty awesome, so does a ton of other people
I'm actually in theater
I talk to girls all the time
I'm completely happy with myself

So uh, now what? And I'm being sincere with the above statements. I have a pretty awesome life. . . But I just can't get a girlfriend.

What you need to do, homeboy, is not become friends with girls first, then. You appear to have the confidence, so go out and meet a new girl and don't be friendly with her first. Make your intentions clear from the start, ask for her number right away, make physical contact with her.

It doesn't help that I'm friends with almost everyone, so that puts me in the predicament of 'just friends' category. So no I can't get a girlfriend, I'm the guy that everyone wants to be friends with, not date.
