I recently started talking to him, and eventually told him i liked him.

But hes real shy, and im loud and outgoing.
Plus, hes never had a girlfirnd...and ive been further with a guy.

Good luck with that. You can't change him, so you either deal with it, or leave without it. Sure you could TRY to get him to do something outgoing. You could TRY to break his shell. But you can't make him do anything he don't wanna do. My sister had a boyfriend who was so shy, he didn't even want to go to PROM with her. Of course, my sister, being the bossy one, made him go. He stepped on the dancefloor not ONCE.

However, since you guys haven't even been on a date yet, don't go creating up problems when nothing has happened yet. If you really like him, get to know him better, and see if you guys can work out the differences.

Make sure he's comfortable with whatever he's doing.

I've been called "shy" many times. It's a personality thing, so if you really like him then you need to know thats part of who he is. If he is like me, he probally wants to do one on one things you know? None of that going out with a group of people nonsense. He probally does not like being reminded how shy he is either. Lastly, as absurd as it might sound, what Odin said might work. I'm not saying totally go for it, but if you show him you are comfortable with him he will probally open up a bit.

But he usually goes out in big crowds!!

I dunno how old you are and what the age is to go into a bar where you live.
But where I'm from (Holland),when I was shy (and believe me,I was), a good friend of mine took me to the pub..just get used to hanging around multiple people.

Ever since then I've been more outgoing and enjoying life more.

Ps: Reason I was shy, had 2 Chronic diseases for 2 years without knowing it,caused me to never go out.
