First off, you need to find out what's causing you to lack confidence, or holding you back ... Do you get tongue-tied? Are you just nervous?

If she says no, just don't bring it up again, and keep on going on like before. You can attempt to date your friends, have it fail, and continue as friends, if you are both mature enough.
