| Your religion is your past, present, and future beliefs. It defines you as a person, and shouldn't be forced upon you (directly or indirectly) by anyone. I hardly call converting a 'new thing' - it's an entirely new life. Would you be willing to change your entire life and following beliefs you don't necessarily agree with for your boyfriend? You've got to make sure both of you love each other... and even then, converting would be a stretch. I advise against it, especially because you're happy with your current religion. If his parents are 'hardcore' in adhering to this rule, who's to say there aren't others? Your boyfriend may be embarrassed to say, or even frightened for your own sake.

| Guys shut the fuck up. Honestly. First off, I have to agree with Guru here. Religion (at least the 3 major ones) are not to be considered hobbies. Converting isn't just to "try new things" but dedicate your life to that religion, god, deity, etc..Of course you could always research it, see if it's values, morals, beliefs line up with what you understand about the world.
