| Anime was originally short for "animation". While technically ANY animation can be referred to as anime, the term is often used to describe the Japanese animation in which the art is manga style. Often, (Japanese) anime is adapted from (Japanese) manga. However, the trend has been growning, and many countries have started to produce their own anime and manga (e.g., the United States, Germany, etc.).

| Um... many animes contain "white" anime characters if you're only going by skin/screen pigment. Also, Hellsing takes place in, what is it, London? And possibly Germany, I believe. London/Germany =/= Asia Oh, and added to the race thing... I swear there was this character who looked Arab. And lived in Germany. And... spoke Japanese. Ah, that was a twisted series with a dancing anteater and many other strange things.
