The only reason we lie is because well, you people expect us to give you instant gratitude, if we tell you the truth like you beg us to do all the damned time, you all flip out.

"Nothing, really" Truth, quickly ends what would have been an argument
"Do this make me look fat?" Their question
"Yes" Truth, quickly leads to a slap or weak, half-assed beating
And then of course, at one point or another
"Why do you never tell me the truth?"
