1. why are you so sure he still likes you? guys do seem to find replacements pretty quickly.
2. unless you explained you are grounded he is very likely to be pissed off with you - i would be. quick example - if a guy blows me off once i give him the cold shoulder until he suggests a way to make it up to me. guys are just as afraid of rejection as girls are, darling
3. you asked him to hang out with your friends on a date (correct me if im wrong, but im assuming you chose said friends because they are closer to you than they are to him). you're taking him out of his comfort zone and sticking him in your world.
4. as for the movie - maybe he genuinely didnt like the film. or maybe he couldnt afford a film and whatever you were gonna do after the film. maybe he thought you expect him to 'make a move' during the film and wasnt certain if he actually wants to do that.
i think you should ask him out again but make sure it's something simple and straightforward that doesnt involve other people
