Go:Audio follow a long tradition of bands made up of siblings, from Oasis and Arcade Fire to My Chemical Romance and Good Charlotte.
The band have been together since 2002 when Josh met James through a mutual friend at Reading Festival. Josh eventually persuaded him to leave his previous band and join him and his guitarist brother who had just returned home from University. Andy was recruited later through NME when they realised that to emulate their favourite bands they needed a drummer.
Go:Audio formed to fill the gap between British bands like Lostprophets and U.S. bands The Killers, Panic At The Disco and Fall Out Boy.
The band felt that whilst more and more U.S. bands were touring the UK and being played on UK radio, no British bands were making their type of music, even as the scene increased with magazines like Kerrang! championing these acts.
Once they had written their early material the band began playing gigs around their home towns of Birmingham and Northampton playing with any bands that would have them, and pestering record labels for a deal.
By 2007 they were attracting interest from publishers after their myspace site became one of the biggest UK trafficked unsigned sites and signed their deal to Universal Music Publishing home of 30 Seconds To Mars, The Killers and Angels and Airwaves.
Universal Music brought Go:Audio to the attention of Epic Records who signed them in 2007. They have since recorded their debut album with Andy Green (Keane, The Feeling and Scouting For Girls producer) and continued to tour with bands such as HelloGoodbye, Scouting For Girls, The Futureheads, We Are Scientists and Elliot Minor.
Go:Audio have been making friends rapidly ever since. Kerrang have recently said "meet your new favourite band". Mixing elements of pop, rock and emo, Go:Audio are either a rock band you can dance to, or else a dance act that you can rock out to. You decide!
Made Up Stories is released on May 26th 2008
