90s, but the 70s was close only because of Led Zepplin.
the 00's have been good for the rebirth of hiphop as a new genre though. Not shits like Hurricane (pussy, I actually know this bitch) etc..etc.. but more like Lupe Fiasco, Nas, Common, and Kanye.
